Sample at GABF 10/08/2016, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Brown-black color with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily. Patchy lacing. Smoked wood, malt and chocolate aroma. Medium body with flavors of charred malt, dark chocolate and coffee. The finish is smokey with a malty aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

A dark brown porter with a very thin brown head. In aroma, nice bitter chocolate with coffee grind, light peated notes, grassy hops, light chalky notes, nice and smooth with nice bitter chocolate final. In mouth, loads of bitter chocolate with coffee grind, light vanilla, licorice, phenolics from the smoked malt, very nice oily mouth feel, well done. On tap at brewery.

[2/19/15] Draught at Beachwood BBQ in Long Beach. Black with a tan head. Lovely smoked sausages aroma. Sweet flavor with malt, roast, meaty smokiness, a sourish hint and a dry bitterish finish. Medium-bodied. Really good.
