Mikael Sundstöms honung, är en honung som vi gillar och används förutom här även i ”Mölska Bergslagen”, ”Björkens Tårar” och ”Gräs Byttan”. Pollenanalys av honungen visade kraftiga inslag av blåbär och lingonblom, samt av gullris, något som är väldigt ovanligt i de flesta trakter. Vi är därför väldigt glada att basen av vår verksamhet hamnat i Hällefors, där vi kan få stor och nära tillgång på bra och intressant honung. I torra rena mjöd som det här, är honungens kvalité helt avgörande då den lämnas helt ”naken”.

Sample from bottle @ Mikkeller & Friends, Stefansgade 35, Copenhagen, Denmark 2200. [ As Mjödhamnen Skogens Gyllene Ris ].Clear light to medium yellow colour with virtually noo head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy honey, light buttery honey, some white wine - oak notes. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, honey, fruity, tart fruit - wine notes, dry. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20140521] 5-2-6-3-11

Very pale blond color, some bubbles. Light aroma of Sauvignon blanc. Very dry, with some carbonation; weak, with some acidity and bitterness; as often happens with dry meads, this too reveals some chemicals. Dry meads are difficult, and this one doesn’t show enough floral or fruity character.

bottle at tasting at mikkeller and friends - clear yellow , no head. refined citrussy aroma ,only faint honey notes, yellow fruits like a triple. flavor is yellow fruits, bitterish, flowey, palate is priclly, weird with the spicy bitterness.

Bottled. A light yellow mead. The aroma has notes of passion fruit, honey, and flowers. The flavor is sweet with notes of honey and spicy flowers, leading to a quite dry finish.

Bottled@SBWF2012. Pale slightly hazy yellow colour, no head at all. Aroma is mild acidic wood, some honey as well as some herbal and floral notes to it. Flavour has the same elements, but also has some slight berryish and spicy notes. Hides the alcohol rather well.

75cl bottle courtesy of and shared with Gnoff. Dorée pâle-foin. Arôme mielleux, fleuri de bourgeon rappelant encore le sureau, avec un mielleux bien placé. Palais reste également bien mielleux, note fleuri, frais fin de bouche légèrement fruitée de baies. Note douce pouvant rappeler la vanille. Demi-sec avec une très fine note pétillante en fin de bouche. Le tout garde un léger collant et siropé sur les lèvres.

75 cl bottle from Systembolaget, order by bottle. Sampled on June 9, 2013. Bottle label marked 11.6% ABV.Clear pear color, minute bubbles. Sweet, honey, lingonberry scent. Sweet, honey, alcohol, oily, pear taste. Warming alcohol. Berry and pear aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, tart but a bit sweet finish.
