A hazed dark amber saison with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light orange pulp, grapeskin, light grape juice, very smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with grapes, light curacao, coriander, light cork, very smooth and pleasing. On tap at Volo.

(Project X bottle from the brewery) Pours a lightly hazed straw gold with a thin white head of fine bubbles, just a bit of lace. Aroma has a bunch of barrel character, with oak and wine, not buttery (knowing what it is, the light tannic red fruit and herbal, slightly spicy character of Pinot Noir), some light yeasty fruity funk, faint citrus from the hops. Flavour begins with some reasonably tart and lightly funky red fruit over light malt grain dries out, with a pleasant bitter character throughout. Early fruity character (good blend of fruit from barrel, yeast esters and hops) becomes moderated by wood, light spice and then finishes with a slightly tannic, hop-driven bitterness. Carb fairly light for style, effervescent, body moderate. Lots of barrel here, but it is a great integration with hop and yeast elements - from a big Pinot Noir fan, this is an excellent summer sipper.
