Growler from the brewery. Pours a dark brown colour with red highlights, but no head at all. Roasted malt nose with hints if coffee and molasses. Mild grassy hop eventually come out. Wet mouthfeel with a little dryness in the finish because of the hop. Roasted malt taste, but the hop takes over with a nice bitterness. The flavours from the hop do take a weird spin. A little too much on the wood side of things. Easy drinking, as not too thick and heavy for this dark beer. Not sure what hop is used in here, but not really a fan.

A murky dark brown IPA with a thin creamy dark mocha head. in aroma, smooth herbal hops with roasted malt with tonnes of ground coffee, herbal notes, OK. In mouth, a smooth roasted malt with grassy and grainy notes, with herbal hops, a bit subdued, OK. On tap at Arrow and Loon, Jan 17, 2012.
