Reviewed from notes.
Can to tulip.
Appearance: dark brown close to black color with a two finger tan foamy head which dissipated at a nice pace to leave some light lace
Aroma: deep dark roasted malts up front with some toasted nuts, earthy character; sweet char/ashy note
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas fairly well with a mild coffee roastiness coming in underneath; finishes roasty and earthy
Texture: medium bodied, leaning to be a sipper; some roasty to earthy grinding tones hitting the tongue but the more I sipped the more I didn't actually mind it.
Overall: a bit ashier/charr-like than I expected but not a bad stout I think I "might" come back to. Hmmmm...maybe

A deep dark brown stout with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, nice coffee grinds predominates, light bitter chocolate, faintly nutty. In mouth, rich chocolate and coffee, grassy notes, nice and smooth, well done. On tap at Barcade Brooklyn, Dec. 30 2011.
