Porter originated in London England just prior to the industrial revolution. The name was adopted after the porters who worked the docks of London and drank copious amounts of this dark ale to sustain them. As a style of ale, Porter is the predecessor of Stout which was originally called “Stout (or strong) Porter”. Our Porter is a deep brown, almost black, colour with a red tint. It presents coffee—like roasted malt flavours and a dry finish.

Only available in our Granville Island Brewing retail store.

A dark ruby red porter with a thin light moka head. In aroma, light sweet chocolate malt, and light British hops. In mouth, a nice sweetish chocolate and caramel, with good fragrant hops, coffee notes, medium bodied. Bottle tasted Nov. 27, with GRM and friends. Merci Jean-Sébastien.
