Bottled. A pitch black beer wtih a tan head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and soy sauce. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt and soy sauce, leading to a dry roasted finish.

A deep dark lager with a thin off white head. A light nutty malt aroma with light coffee notes. In mouth, a lightly smoked chocolate malt with mineral notes, some licorice. Not bad. On tap at brewpub, August 27 2009.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Hazy and opaque black with a rough off-white head. Hard roasted malt in the nose. Medium body, a little low in carbonation, hard roasted malts and a little coffee. Has a light malt bitterness in the finish. 100709

12 fl oz bottle, RBSG2009. Pours dark brown to black with a small off-white head. Dark roasted and slight hoppy aroma. Roasted malt flavoured and light hoppy. Mild liqourice note. Ends roasted and with a good hoppy bitterness coming through.

Sample from a 12 oz bottle at the RBSG Beer Dinner and another Steve told me to take home. Nose is lightly smoky, roasty, with some caramel and chocolate. Black with a small tan head. Flavor is Chocolate, chocolate, and light smokeiness.
