Keg at the brewpub, 22/09/15. Golden amber with a well appointed off white covering. Nose is bitter orange, light floral, straw, herbal. Taste comprises orange pith, straw, toasted malt, bitter citric peel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok if a little pedestrian.

On tap, as Laine’s IPA 5.5 % abv, brewed by WJ King according to the barmaid. Half pint at the Four Thieves in Battersea. Shared with Stefan. Lacing rings down the glass from a diminishing white head. Clear golden body. Haft-dry citrus smell joined by bread-like malts. Ripe orange taste with undercurrent of grainy malts. Subdued drying bitter end. Soft in the mouth. Straightforward ipa (London 12.07.2015).

Cask at the Four Thieves - Lonfon. Pours clear gold with a frothy white topping. The nose holds some ripe citrus fruits, subtle floral perfume, pale bread. Medium sweet flavor with a bitbof oily pine, orange, mellow grapefruit, slight grain husk. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; nicely conditioned. Finishes with some piney resins, lightly toasted pale malts, subtle grass, orange rind, tangerine, melon. Not bad overall.

Cask at the four thieves. Clear golden orange coloured pour with a lasting thin white head. Aroma is sticky berry hop, pine and some orange / tangerine like citrus. Flavour is nice clean base malt with little biscuit, sticky resinous pine needles, orange rind. Assertive clean leafy hop bitterness. Palate is medium full, resin on the tongue and moderate condition. Pretty solid cask IPA in very good condition. Little lingering grapefruit.
