Handpulled cask at the brewpub Four Thieves in Battersea. Shared with Stefan. Jet black body. Bright naked surface. Mid-sweet black malty aroma. Vanilla, banana, nuts and earthy malts to the flavour profile. Mid-sweet roasted malty ending. Medium bodied. Quite nice, a tad too sweet though (London 12.07.2015).

Cask at the Four Thieves - London. Pours rich black-brown with almost no head, just a few tan bubbles. Lots of milk chocolate in the aroma, soft roast, dusty cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with light bittersweet cocoa, se oily molasses, dark fruits, berries, raisins, prunes. Medium bodied, lightly chewy, with veryine carbonation; so so condition. Finishes sweet and chocolatey, with some burnt earth, leathery old berries, more raisins, some dark bread. Pretty OK.

Cask at the four thieves. Dark brown coloured pour with reddy hues and a fleeting loose tan head. Aroma is tart berry, coco powder, bitter roast. Flavour is nutty roast, stewed plums, bitter dark choc, and some alcohol bite in the finish. Palate is watery, very low carbonation. Lingering bitter roast and dark fruits.

Cask at Four Thieves. It pours dark ruby-brown with a minimal head. The nose is roasted malt, toast, earth, liquorice, salted caramel and molasses. The taste is toasty, dark roast coffee, earth, wood, cocoa, light umami, pepper and mild treacle sweetness with a dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation. Not but, but could really be lifted with a touch more carbonation. Fine.
