Bottle from the brewery online shop. Pours dark red-brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of marmalade and brown bread. Taste is toffee, honeycomb. Light sweet finish.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - brown with an edge of amber. Fluffy, beige head. Nose - tinned orange, even marmalade and brown bread. Taste - toffee and brown bread. Still orange lurking. Palate - medium bodied, creamy, sweet and a little chewy. Overall - good if not quite an amber ale, as would put it into Scottish Ale or Brown Ale.

Bottle picked up at the Inverurie whisky shop. It pours clear very deep, dark ruby with a bubble off - white head. The aroma is sweet, jammy, plenty of red berry, bramble, dried fruits, fruit cake and victoria sponge cake. The taste is dry upfront with a touch of bitterness which lingers, slightly charred, toasty, woody roast, nutty jammy berry, bramble, blueberry, cherry, dried fruits, splash of Dr Pepper and cherry cola with a dry finish. Average body and soft, mellow carbonation. Has a nice deep fruitiness to it. Not quite what I was expecting, more exciting perhaps.
