Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - murky brown, tan head. Nose - toffee and brown bread. Chocolate cereal. Taste - burnt toffee, burnt brown bread, and generally a bit cakey. Palate - medium bodied, sweet then roasty. Overall - good example of the style.

Bottle thanks to the Father -in-law, picked up at the brewery. It pours clear deep reddish - amber with a decent frothy light tan head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, oily, sappy, sweet brown bread, caramel, cherry cola, rivita and digestive biscuits. The taste is firmly dry, decent bitterness which lingers, woody, leather, tannin, caramel, cola, dried fruits, fruit cake, toasted spice, leafy, earthy, toasted oak and light alcohol with a drying, woody finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Decent bock. Nice bitter snap.
