Hazy amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is smooth and fairly dry. Decent carbonation. Light dry malts, mildly sweet. Slightly woody hops, some dry pith and peel. Orange peel and mild pine. Finishes semi dry and bitter. All things considered this was probably decently hoppy when fresh. I agree with Fergus, it should be either a DIPA or honour the brewers intent and be a barleywine.

Cask gravity at the 2016 pigs ear beer fest. A golden orange coloured pour, viscous with no head. Aroma is sticky jammy hop, resinous pine, little alcohol. Flavour is composed of nutty malts, toffee, sticky resinous, jammy fruits, hot alcohol. Palate is sweet and sticky, moderate carbonation. Good stuff. Should be a double ipa.

Gravity cask at the 2016 Cambridge Beer Festival. Dark, golden clear, with a mere suggestion of a loose white head. Strong floral and tropical fruit aroma with a hint of basement funk. Bitter taste with sweetness held to the edges. Finish is long an intensely bitter. Papaya and overripe mango in the aftertaste. OK, but I wanted more for the ABV.
