Can from Beer52. Pours dark brown/near black with small beige head. Aroma of biscuit, chocolate, some roast, sweet vanilla. Taste of chocolate biscuits and a dry roastiness followed by a sweet vanilla and nuttiness. Not overly sweet so quite balanced. Medium bodied, fairly smooth. Not exactly layers of flavour here but still tasty.

440ml can at the Real Ale Classroom, Stoneygate, Leicester. Dark drown and opaque with a ring of tan head. Burnt caramel, hazelnut, vanilla bean, some milk chocolate in the aroma. Taste is sweet, but not overly so. You can tell there's a beer outside of all these sweet flavours. The sweetness does linger on the tongue however and combines with the intense bitter hop to make a nice balance in the finish. Medium body, soft carbonation. Really good if you like pastry stouts!
