Can 50 cl. Pours a clear, nutty brown with a small, beige head. Roasty nose, slightly woody, dry caramel and nuts - don’t get much Cascade aroma. Medium-bodied, dry malts with added hop bitterness. Lacks a little body, but with a lot more character than most mass produced beer. 310517

wow first rating. can from meny. dark brown, smooth small brown head. malty and slightly soapy or sourish note. faint dried fruits. chocolate, Flavor is malty, sweet nuts, chocolate , brown sugar, hoppy bitterness (although it’s cascade i don’t find it very american). flowery notes. while i’m not that fond off brown ale, and this one is quite close to the average (regarding overal taste profile) brown ale, i do find it being full bodied and with plenty of flavor. After having a few more sips, my verdict is that the beer is so filled with malts that the hops are not as strong as they otherwise would have been, but the hops are there, somewhere behind the chocolate and nutty roasted malts. In fact this is a better brown ale than your average microbrew brown ale, and that is a good accomplishment for a macro brewery and a supermarket beer. The IPA in the same series also stand out as craftmanship. Looking forward to tasting the wheat beer.
