S: tart - funky - prunes A: clear amber body - no head at all! T: grape jelly (duh!) - no malts - peaches P: clean-drinking - cider-like - floral at end O: mild throughout - lactobilly funk - not-too-interesting, perhaps lost a lot of complexity/depth over time? drink now if you still have one! 12oz bottle - Knightly Spirits: Orlando (Orange Blossom Trail), Florida - purchased: 19-April-2019 - US$3,32 - sampled: 25-August-2024, sampled over 5 years after purchase

On draft at Outer Banks Brewing Station. Pours a hazy straw with a white head. Aroma of white concord grapes. Flavors are tart and vinous. A bit one dimensional but decent.

On tap at Flying Saucer - Raleigh, pours a clear pale blonde with a tiny white head. Aroma brings out plenty yogurty lacto notes upfront, with subdued grape skins. Flavour is pronounced on the grape, tasting a bit like Concord grape juice, with just subtle sweetness, a touch of lacto and some grape skins. Pleasant enough, but lacking much depth. Alright.

Straightforward sour ale, a hefty swath of tart citric acidity coupled with a gentle concord grape sweetness and a musty, moderately sour finish. Easy to drink, even if the carbonation’s a tad soft. Citrus nose with a hint of soy and grape. Nothing spectacular, but enjoyable.
