Pour is a nice dark auburn with a large tan head. Aroma is sugar and dark fruit. Flavor is pretty much the same. Sugar covered dark fruit but not as intense as it should be. a little caramel is left on the tongue after the swallow. Everything was going in the right direction but just a bit muted. Still worthy of a try.

Can. Pours clear amber with a beige head. Stone fruit, caramel, raisin, malt, bit of brown sugar. Not bad.

Some florals and a hint of plum like sigar fairies. Dark brown pour with decent head. Clean finish. Tap at World of Beer Savannah.

Very sugary Americanized take on a Dubbel, lacking a distinct Belgian feel and forgoing yeasty depth for sheer stateside sweetness. Lots of toffee, clove, and bruleed bananas, backed up by slight berry notes and minimal bitterness. Aroma gives off tons of sweet clove, not much else. Slack texture adds to the growing cloy finish. Not great.

Can sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks Nick D. Clear orange-amber. Aroma of caramel and esters - fruit compote. Sweet flavor with caramel and fruitiness. Medium-bodied.

On tap at the Fred. Pours dark brown, with a bubbly, off-white ring. Bittersweet chocolate, with a light smokiness, mild coffee, black tea, and anise. Sweet, with a pleasant, savory spice, and a little hop bitterness. Medium to heavy body, very chalky, and unpleasantly astringent. Overall, this is a fair brown ale, but lacks much complexity, and the unpleasant palate makes it surprisingly difficult to drink. Promising, but needs some work.
