Third of a cask pint at the Scottish Real Ale Festival in Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange on 7th July 2017. Misty golden amber body, white head. Malty molasses rule the nose and taste, some decent hop injection to balance the sweetness. Decent blend for people like me with a sweet tooth.

Cask at the brewery tap. Clear amber body with a dense off-white head. Good lacing. Aroma of tea and copper. Flavour of Earl Grey tea and a lemony finish. Thin to body with a slick mouthfeel. A bit sharper than I was expecting but a tasty beer all the same.

Cask at the Blue Blazer. Appearance - deep amber to red with a nice fluffy head. Nose - toffee and nuts. Taste -really chewy toffee and some sorta red fruit at the end. Liquorice at the back. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - it’s sold.

Cask at the Blue Blazer. New brewery tick! Pours clear amber with a thin white head. Aromas are malty, toffee, light spice, mixed nuts. Taste is toasty, earthy, more spice and toffee. Faint tickle of bitterness on the finish. Not going to set the world alight, but solid and well made gear.

Cask at the Blue Blazer. It pours clear brown with a thick off-white head. The aroma is toasted brown bread, light spice, earthy, dried fruits, tobacco and dull smoke. The taste is dry, wood, leather, earth, toast, cacao nibs, dried fruit and spice with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Well rounded and drinkable. Nice traditional stuff.
