This original dark beer has soft malt notes of coffee and chocolate that combine with a pleasant light hoppiness to create a rich, full tasting Old Ale of times gone by.

Cask at the White Lion, Nicholson’s - London. Pours clear, deep caramel-brown with a staunch, tight frothy tan head. Dried fruits in the nose, hints of dusty coaco and toasty bread. Light to medium sweet flavor with mild earthy bitterness, some baking cocoa, dried berries. Light bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Further dried berries in the finish with light earthy bitterness, dry plums, toasted bread. Decent.
