Cask at the Tap and Vine, Penwortham. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of liquorice, light smoke, dark fruits. Taste is light chocolate, dates, something bitter, maybe light roast. Texture is creamy and smooth. Bitter finish. Great porter!

Cask @ Calans, Hebden Bridge. Very dark red with an off-white creamy head. It's sticky-sweet with pleasantly understated roasted malts coupled with a sweetness.

Cask at the CP&K, 15/01/18. Light black with a decent tan cap. Nose is dark malts, light spice, plummy notes, fruit loaf, cocoa powder. Taste comprises roast malts, liquorice, light spice, stewed fruits, dates, toffee, light chocolate. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close. Decent enough porter.

Cask halfpint at The Junction, Castleford. Dark ruby colour, nearly black. Beige head. Moderate aroma, mild roasty notes. Very nice flavour, notes of dates and liquorice, moderate roasty notes, decent bittering hops.
