A beer that we have been wanting to make with Ehren Schmidt, Master Blender at Mikkeller Baghaven, since before the Brewpub at Exmouth Market was even built.
This is a classic, dry and bitter Belgian style Hoppy Pale Ale. A no frills kind of beer that relies on it's complex simplicity. The kind of beer that a brewer would choose after a long, hot day in the brewhouse or after steaming barrels all day.

Tap@Mikkeller Brewpub London (01/08/2022) Malty and notes of Belgian yeast, light citrus lemony fruity notes, straw, hay, medium body, yeasty and light citrus spiced floral hoppy close. Nice Belgian pale.

On tap at Mikkeller Brewpub London, pours a cloudy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, floral hops, and a touch of resins. Flavour is quite hoppy, with a nice floral hop character, bitter pine, gentle Belgian yeast, and crisp biscuity malt. Bitter, bold and drinkable. Good stuff.

Keg at Mikkeller Exmouth Market Brewpub, 17/08/22. Moderate haze on a light golden pour topped with an off white head that retains well. Nose is fruit esters, herbal notes, straw, yeast, grains, bitter citric shreds. Taste comprises lemon tinged straw, herb, stale bread, yeast esters, hedgerow, light white peppery spice. Medium bodied, light spritzy carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough Belgo affair.

ABV: 4.5%. Hazy medium to light yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, wheat, light to moderate yeasty, belgian yeast - witbier yeast - minerals, fruity - barrel touch. Initial flavor is moderate sweet, finish flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration, yeasty, fruity yeast - fruity hops, hoppy, fruity - barrel - old hops touch, hops bitter finish, medium dry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20220803]
