Bottle at the flat in Sofia - picked up from 100 Beers. Pours clear brown with a lasting, creamy beige topping. Lightly sweet with moderate roast, bitter earth, light cocoa, burnt pine, orange rind. Medium bodied with massaging carbonation. Finishes with further earth, bitter ashy roast, dry burnt pine. Nice overall.

330ml bottle. (Presumably slightly cloudy), dark brown colour with ruby shimmer and huge, thick, firm frothy, moderately to mostly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Piney hoppy and slightly roasty, dark malty aroma, hints of coffee and pine needles. Taste is roasty and chocolately, dark malty, piney and resinous, minimally herbal, bitter hoppy, notes of coffee, hints of dark chocolate, notes of pine, pine needles, a touch of mint, woodruff, liquorice overtones; lingering, bitter, herbal, hoppy finish. Oily-watery texture, dry, minimally pungent and repellent palate, medium, prickly, in combination with the bitterness almost a bit aggressive carbonation. As paradox as this style might be: these herbal and piney, almost earthy, sylvan hop flavours match well with the dark malts used here; maybe better than the citrus fruit-flavoured chocolate kind of BIPAs - very enjoyable.

Draft. A dark brown beer with a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, citrus fruits, and dusty hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of citrus fruits, roasted malt, dusty hops, and a bit of chocolate, leading to a bitter finish. A bit raw.
