500ml bottle bought from KWM Wines and drunk at home. Dark brown, opaque with a frothy beige head. Malty aroma, lots of peat with pumpernickel bread, some gravy, butter cooking chocolate. Bittersweet taste with a savoury, almost meaty flavour. More gravy granules in the aftertaste. Medium body, heavy carbonation. It's pretty nice.

Bottle in the hotel room, Dublin, 15/09/19. Black with a decent khaki covering ... a lively pour. Nose is dried fruits, charr, mellow roast, not great ... infection me thinks. Taste comprises bitter fruits, liquorice, ashen tones, dark malts, light spice, treacle toffee. Medium bodied, prickly carbonation, drying close. Rather clumsy and likely carrying an infection.
