This new collaboration with our friends at The Veil (Richmond, VA) is a bold and intense barrel-aged barleywine. Full bodied with a light warming character, Drove of Oxen showcases complex aromas of brulee sugar, black cherry, and bourbon with a medium-high sweetness and a light bitterness.

Bottle at home. Pours deep ruby brown, nose is caramel, berries, meaty, smoky, vanilla, little soy sauce, taste is similar, a little boozy.

50cl bottle I brought back from Boston to share. Cola brown, oily. Thick. Malt and caramel on the nose. Booze. Lots. Sticky and cloying. Oxidized too? Plenty to like but enough to take away. 7 3 7 3 12
