Lulu's version of 'My Boy Lollipop' only reached number 86 in the UK chart. This 'Lollipop' charts a bit higher in beer lists for me, with lots of subtle tropical fruit alongside traditional tasting ingredients from the British Isles and the combination is pretty tasty, within an easy IPA texture and strength. Tropical notes are most stated in aroma. Bought a couple of years ago in South Wales.

Very slightly hazy golden amber with a bubbly/frothy white head. Citrus and pine aroma, very slightly chewy with grapefruit and pine bitterness sitting on top of a light malt backbone, creates a very nicely balanced bittersweet hoppy pale ale.

27/6/2024. Bottle bought at Fire & Ice, Narberth. Pours clear amber with a small frothy white head. Aroma is buttery, caramel, grains, sweet malt, straw, raisins, husky fruits. Fairly sweet, moderate bitterness, slight tart edge. Moderate body, oily watery, soft carbonation. Not bad.

Hazy medium amber, small frothy white head, mostly diminishing, light lacing. Aroma sweet malts, caramel, grain, bit overripe apple, light pine resin. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, caramel, fruity and spiney notes. Malty sweetbitter aftertaste, grainy, husky notes. Lght to medium body, watery to oily texture, soft carbonation. Not really an IPA and a bit on the coarse side but okay.

500ml bottle bought at N.D. John Wines Merchants Ltd. Shared with Finn. Near-clear golden body under a filmy layer, lacing rings down the glass. Mid-sweet oily hops on the nose. Malt-fruity flavours with a piney moment. Moderate resinous bitterness to the ending. Satisfying. (Hotel room , Swansea 01.10.2018).
