500ml bottle. Best Before 14th May, so 2 months over. Poured a clear chestnut brown colour with a big frothy off-white head. The aroma is nutty hops. The flavour is moderate sweet and bitter, with a smooth, light toffee caramel, earthy, nutty, light woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Keg from brewer's own stand at the Banbury Christmas Market. Deep ruby-brown with a cream-coloured head. Quite a heavy, bitter roastiness throughout, but there's sweetness behind to balance - a little sweetened black coffee plus definite treacle. Not much sign of the plums it's meant to contain though. Maybe a bit of liquorice. Overall it was ok, pleasant at times, although I think not one I'd go back to.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 5/6/2019. Dark brown in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. A touch of leafy hop, rich brown sugar, berry fruits, ripe malts and a gentle finish. Good.
