25/4/2018. Cask at Bacchus, Newcastle. Pours golden with a small off-white head. Aroma of blueberry, raspberry ripple ice cream, sweet syrup, caramel and pecan. Quite heavy sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Sweetness worked, enjoyed this.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Opaque, pale, dirty gold. Streams of fine bubbles make for a thick, dense, off white head. Nose has a load of the adjuncts. Smells like a bowl of really well loaded up porridge. The blueberry and pecans shine through, particularly. Behind that, there’s a fresh hop pale ale, with biscuity grain. Taste has an expected sweetness, mostly on the lips, but overall it’s fairly crisp, fresh hop bitter. Medium body. Lively, foamy carbonation. Dries the palate a little. Decent balance of sweet and bitter to finish. Missus took one sniff and wouldn’t go near it, but I quite liked this one. Certainly not run of the mill.
