Can best before May 31, 2027 (lol!), drunk Mar 11, 2026. The Best Before date on their IPAs kills me. I think they use an 18 or 24 month BBD on their IPAs!
Smells like wort! Not sure I get any hop. Touch of chocolate-like malt character, I guess. Some earthiness, some metal...
Quite thin with a good deal of diacetyl. Can't tell if there is hop bitterness on the end (maybe a bit) but it's mostly malt bitterness. Approaching a seltzery body, though not the absolute thinnest I've had for an NA. Certainly no actual hop character. Maybe you could extrapolate a speck of grapefruit and pine. Papery, lightly worty, seltzery flavors up front disrupt all continuity. Really just a lightly chocolatey beverage with vague bitterness. Wort and diacetyl retronasal. Ok, that's enough Sober Carpenter. I've tried three and that's two too many.

Pint can. Roasted malt aroma with notes of dark chocolate, grapefruit, coffee, tangerine, floral and pine resin hops. Pours black with a finger of mocha brown head that has excellent retention and lacing. Starts with rich roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee and tangerine flavors. Finishes smooth and dry with grapefruit, floral and pine rainy hop flavors. Decent NA brew.

Can (24083) pour from Total Wine & More, Brentwood. Opaque black with tall head with good retention and trace lacing. Aroma is strong roasted malt w/chocolate, bittering hops/pine. Taste follows aroma w/addition of light coffee. Smooth texture, flat-to-soft carbonation and finish as taste. Roast/chocolate is nice but hops counterbalance is a bit understated. Hoppy bite/carbonation increase would raise this up to really respectable levels. Age affects hops in alcohol beers so why not here? Might need to be super fresh.

Can. Black beer with a tan head. Toasted malt and caramel aroma. Roast and light toasted malt flavor with light caramel. Medium bodied. Roast and caramel linger. Slightly acrid.
