15/1/2019. Cask at Samuel Peto, Folkestone. Pours dark amber with a frothy/creamy off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, hops and fruit. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Moderate body, slight watery texture, average carbonation. More like an ale that was old than an old ale.

2nd December 2008. Clear dark brown beer, respectable suddy head. Rich tangy malt, a small amount of fruit. A little nutty. Not bad!

500ml bottle from Phil_L, who I think bought it at the new brewery shop. Deep dark red colour with thin reddish beige head. Black cherry, malt, bit of yeast, bit of hop aroma. Bottle conditioned too. Good carbonation in mouth, goodish choc and black cherry flavours. Some chalkiness. Finish has some goodish hop. Bit sharp actually which conflicts with the fullness of the choc malt and fruit from the start of the beer. Good interesting winter beer. Cherry flavour is particularlyinteresting.
