We're excited to introduce Bière de Lenoir — our barrel aged sour beer refermented with Texas-grown Lenoir grapes! This is the first time we’ve ever worked with Lenoir grapes.
Bière de Lenoir is a blend of barrel aged beer brewed with Hill Country well water, malted and raw grains from our friends at Blacklands Malt, fresh and aged hops, and fermented with our mixed culture of brewers yeast and native yeast and bacteria. It matured in oak barrels for eight to fourteen months before blending and refermention with Lenoir grapes (also known as Black Spanish) from Torre di Pietra Vineyards in Fredericksburg, Texas.

Reddish-brown, massive grapey character, mild tartness, light woody, definitely vinous through the finish.

On tap at Garden Path - Bellingham, pours a cloudy rusted red with a small off-white head. Nose is full of red grape skins, plenty of tannins, oak, and wild yeast in good cohesion. Flavour is very tart and very vinous, with intense red grape skins, lots of mustiness, tannins, oak, and wild yeast. The acidity isn't too harsh, allowing the vinous quality to permeate. Excellent.

On tap at Ansari’s. Pours a clear purple with a red hue and a light pink head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has strong dry and slightly earthy red grapes with some oak and a hint of tart grape underlying. Flavor has more sour red grapes with a bit of dryness and a bit of oak supporting.
