A festive friend, Four Candles is a seasonal “special” packed full of Goldings and Amarillo hops with English malted barley combined with lightly caramelised amber and red malts. Refreshing burnished golden ale with a smack of orange peel, Four Candles is a true session hoppy ale and contrary to popular belief, celebrates the Four Candles of Advent, not the famous Two Ronnies sketch of the same name.

[Cask at the Old Ale and Coffee House, Salisbury.] A bright pale amber pour with a tight white head; citrus aroma; clean citrus taste a bready body. Fresh and refreshing but not very seasonal.

Bottle from JSteve and drunk at home. Clear gold colour lasting white head. Citrus hoppy aroma. Oranges aroma. OK malts in the mouth. Some more flowery citrus fruits on the finish. I thought pretty decent. Doesn't smell pasteurised. Decent freshness. I liked it. Would be super drinkable on cask.

Cask at The Albion, Winchester. 16/12/16. Don’t get it. A Christmas special, but just watery and tasteless.

Cask (Guide Dog, Southampton) - Golden/amber in colour. Fruity and hoppy aroma with some biscuit and grapefruit. Fruity and nicely hoppy taste with spicy malt notes. Tasty and very easy to drink.
