Cask at GBBF'23, day two, 02/08/23. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a beige cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is toffee, brown bread, light roast, cocoa sprinkle. Taste comprises dried fruit rinds, mellow roast, biscuit, brown bread, dates, liquorice, cocoa powder. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close. Okay porter.

GBBF Day 2. Cask. Almost clear dark brown beer, small tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Mellow chocolate malts, a little cream and a trace of coffee. Smooth semi dry finish. Pleasant little porter.

Bottle at home. Bought at Inn At Home, Guildford. We have a gusher! Had been sat on a shelf for a while but lost about a third of the beer when it went ape on being openned. Roast coffee aroma, but stale. Sweet caramel in the mix as well. Black, to dark brown when held in light. Initial massive beige head soon thins down. Real bitter impact. Coffee, sour berries. This carries through to the finish and aftertaste. Although more creamy around the tongue. Light but pleasantly carbonated. But the sour taste just detracts from the overall enjoyment for me.

Cask at the Jolly Sailor, Farnham. An opaque deep tawny brown colour with a ring of cream head; aroma of well roasted chocolate malts; soft and sweet in the mouth with a chocolatey taste, but rather thin; then a creamy finish, with a drinking chocolate aftertaste.
