330ml bottle from Tanners Wines, Shrewsbury. Pours a murky brownish amber, frothy off-white head. Aroma has some pine, leafy malt, moss. Taste mirrors aroma, entering a decent nutty, leafy malty amber ale territory with a certain biscuity bitterness, and nestled berry fruit nods. Nice.

50cl bottle from the brewery, thanks to my brother. A murky pale chestnut pour with a billowing beige head; insipid malty taste with a touch of citrus and some sour apple; and an unpleasantly sharp and acidic finish. Very poor.

Cask at the Post Office Vaults, Birmingham. Poured a medium amber with a creamy white head and bags of clingy lace. The aroma is light malt, light hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light, biscuit malt, light medicinal palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. I fear that this was approaching the end of the cask. A brown ale though ??
