Draft from 3 stars. Plain Brown black pour. Thin feel. Nothing offensive but boring

Can sample at a tasting at Tom L's place. Thanks Tom L. Black. Roast, coffee, caramel, nuts, a bit of chocolate, sweet, bitterish, a bit watery.

16 oz can poured into a tulip. Courtesy of a friend, thanks Ben! Black with light tan head. Aromas of chocolate, lactose, light roast. Tastes of lactose, chocolate, light roasty notes. Medium-light body with a dry finish.

The Sampler, NYC can: pours near black with a quickly dissipating beige head. Light chocolate, roasty coffee stuff. Taste is slightly sweet. Roasty. Low bitterness. Easy to drink.

Canned January 13th, printed clearly on the paper label.

A: Looks pretty black to me, initial abundance of tan foam but that leaves the scene in what seems like the blink of an eye.

S: Toasted oat, roasted malt, sweetish milky notes that remind me of a Milk Stout.

T: Exactly the same for the taste. No surprises either bad or good.

M: Medium bodied, could use a tad more carbonation, imho.

O: A couple of weak points, as I mentioned, but overall, satisfying and

Pint at the brewery, pours a watery, nearly opaque, deep brown/black with some cloudy, grey head. Nose has malt, toast, mild cocoa, hints of licorice. Flavor is better, chewy grains, toast, hints of chocolate syrup, almost like a chocolate soda. Finishes a little watery, but dry and drinkable.
