Best value third for a while at £3.25 in early 2025 for an imperial at 9% - especially as it's very very good! Caramel heavy taste (but not so in aroma), rich for it but you wouldn't know its strength. A sticky-sweet texture is its best indicator in this respect.

13/7/2019. On tap at The Beer Cellar, Exeter. Pours very dark ruby brown with a small beige head. Aroma of chocolate, liquorice, roasted malt, toffee, cardamom, cream and dark fruits. Medium plus sweetness and moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Decent brew.
