Tap@Mad Squirrel, High Wycombe (18/10/19) - very dark brown to black with a tan head. Sweet dark malty with notes of milky chocolate, some caramel and fudge, brown sugar, medium body, sweet malty close.

ABV: 4.5%. Unclear dark red brown colour with a small average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, dark malt, chocolate, spicy, ginger. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, ginger, spicy, chocolate, dark malt, almost minty. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20190802]

12/7/2019. Cask at the Five Bells, Wickham, Berks. Pours very dark brown with a small towards beige head. Aroma of moderate roasted malt, chocolate, mild root ginger, ginger cake and ginger nut biscuits. Medium sweetness and light bitterness. Medium plus body, oily texture, soft carbonation. The mildest of ginger fire developed. Enjoyed this.

Cask @ Five Bells, Wickham. Small head with short duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, chocolate, roast malt, ginger, citrus, hops and has a nice roasty finish. Good one.

Keg at the mad Squirrel joint at Albans. A nut brown coloured pour with a loose light tan head. Aroma is semi sweet, milky chocolate, earthy, hazelnut.. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, nutty, chocolate, hint of spiced in the finish, ginger nut biscuit. Twiggy. Palate is semi sweet, little thin, moderate carbonation.

Keg at MS HW, 11/06/19. Light black with a decent tan covering that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is lIght roast, chocolate, subtle root ginger, dried fruits, light spice. Taste comprises chocolate, Jamaica ginger cake, mellow roasted bite, dark fruit rinds, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent stout ... the ginger is fairly subtle and well integrated.
