On tap at Brouhaha - Rosemont, pours black with a small tan head. Nose is full of bourbon, leather, subdued dark chocolate, and a touch of peat — yeah, that's nice. Flavour is unfortunately not as nice; there's a strange tartness in here that shouldn't be here. This unfortunate tartness drowns out the bourbon and leather character that should be prominent. This can't be right, can it? Not good.

Bottle: Poured a dark brown color ale with a large dark foamy head with OK retention and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with light dry fruits notes with some woody notes of vanilla and bourbon is quite enjoyable. Taste is a mix of roasted malt notes with some dry figs and raisins notes, some vanilla, woody and bourbon notes. Body is pretty full with good carbonation and with light warming alcohol notes. Solid nightcap beer and something that should be brewed on a more regular basis.
