Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading, served a bit cold but in great condition. Deep mahogany with a thin beige-to-tan head. A smokey note up front followed by a hint of mandarin. Chocolate and a light roastiness in the lightly drying finish. The flavours are possibly too subtle - I'd have liked the oranginess to be a bit more prominent, but at least it's not too sweet. It wasn't quite up to the cherry & tonka bean one of the series that I'd had just before, but it was still a great beer and very drinkable. I think I'd like to try more of this series!

[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading.] A tawny coloured pour with a close beige head; chocolate aroma with a hint of orange; smooth milky chocolate body with a subdued orange flavour; and some bitter chocolate to finish. Subtly flavoured so very drinkable.
