Black body with yeast chunks floating beneath a medium tan head. Good lacing. Aroma of smoke, cocoa, cow pat and whisky. Flavour of rust, dark chocolate and a tangy finish. As the end of the glass - and the chunky yeast - nears, the texture becomes chalky and dry. Medium to full body with a smooth mouthfeel. Light fizz. I liked the body but overall this beer is quite disjointed and yeasty.

Bottle thanks to the brewer. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - very dry chocolate and earthy. Taste - dry chocolate again. A bit meaty. Palate - medium to full bodied with a rich creamy texture and a long dry soft finish. Overall - good beer.

Bottle from Deeside Drinks Emporium. It pours jet black with a thick tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, umami, liquorice, tobacco, light smoke, coffee, some acidity and cocoa. The taste is bitter - sweet, rich roast, arabica coffee, tobacco, tar, burnt treacle, cocoa, umami and peppery spice with a dry, slightly burnt finish. Medium - full body and fine, foamy carbonation. A touched burnt perhaps, but overall decent stuff.
