I did achieve a cultural activity in Carlisle earlier before my current beer tour by visiting their citadel, which they call a castle, although the main building is a Keep. Interesting enough history, mostly about keeping the Mel Gibson types from north of the border out! They might want to cross for this traditional ale, with a great hop-malt-bitter balance. It also has an easy strength.

4.0 Cask at moo. Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Aromas of herbal hops, light caramel. Taste is fruity, herbal. Strong herbal finish. Almost like thyme. Odd.
