Let’s face it, we all have an old fart in the family, and he usually likes a good old glass of bitter. With this in mind, our old fart is robust, perfectly balanced. copper colured best bitter. Brewed to give a good dry hop taste, with a little less malt sweetness. Caution! Too many of these and your old fart will be farting like a trooper!

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - dark amber to toffee in colour. Decent head. Nose - burnt toffee, maybe liquorice or even chocolate. Taste - more burnt toffee and again a nod to chocolate or even coffee. Palate - close to medium bodied, there’s a good crunchy but sweet texture. Overall - similar but slightly better than the Misery Guts.

500ml bottle from the brewery online shop. Pours clear dark brown, thin short-lived off-white head. Aromas of burnt toffee and liquorice. Taste is light sweet. Cocoa maybe. Not bad.

One of a bunch of potty mouthed beers purchased at the Essex Food Fair at Cressing Temple Barn. Hazy amber beer, good cream coloured head. A lot of sediment that settles quickly. A little fresh hop on the nose! Light semi dry palate, crisp. Well balanced malt and mild but fresh orangey hop. Finishes crisp with mild bitterness. Not bad at all.
