Cask at the Duck in the Pond, Harrow Weald. Brown-black with a thick tan head. Tastes of blackcurrant, chocolate, and rich roasty malt. Silky smooth with a dry finish. Great mild, shows that you don’t need bucket loads of hops to get great flavours.

On cask at the Haymarket. Appearance - close to opaque black but with some red chinks. Nose - creamy chocolate but with a distinctive farmyard edge to it. Taste - chocolate and some honeycomb. Palate - disappointingly thin given the chocolate notes. Thin rather than creamy. Overall - the farmyard element as well as the thin body don’t do it for me.

Cask at The Haymarket Bar. Pours dark brown, thick tan head. Aromas of coffee and dark stone fruit. Taste is more of the same, fruity with a bitter coffee background. Nice.
