Bottle from Latitude, Leeds. Copper amber with next to no head. Not as strong are you might expect with a good fruity nose. This is less stated in flavour but there’s some fruit here too. The ale also has a lightly sweetened character and is crisp.

Cask at Cloisters. Pours amber with a good white head. Good hop profile on the nose, lemon, orange, tropical fruits. The malt comes through more on the taste though, toffee and caramel biscuit. Too much of both things going on, and it gets confusing. Wouldn’t want to drink a lot of it.

On tap @ Cloisters. Pours amber with a nice fluffy head. The nose is quite fresh and grassy with a bit of citrus. The taste is more confusing - there’s a toffee backbone with citrus/grassy/nettley hops running through the middle of it. It’s interesting but I’m not sure it goes together. The palate is medium bodied with a substantial texture and a very zingy fresh finish - on paper, that’s good but it’s very disjointed, like a game of two halves. Overall, interesting but not as special as the title would have you believe.
