330ml bottle. Opaque, dark brown colour with average, frothy, to creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, off-white to beige head. Chocolately dark malty, slightly vinous, fruity and spicy, minimally tangy and funky aroma, hints of dark chocolate, red wine, blue grapes, dark berries, some liquorice and soy sauce, interfering hints of mustard seed, sage and vinegar; caramel and vanilla overtones; no real course or sequence of flavours, rather a slightly chaotic oscillation. Taste is sweet-and-sour dark malty and fruity, slightly vinous, notes of dark chocolate, some caramel. liquorice, a touch of soy sauce, fruity notes of bramble, blue grapes, dark berries in general, dry, vinous hints of corresponding parings; minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Full body, smooth and soft palate, fine and gentle, nevertheless effective carbonation; accordingly relatively easy drinkable for a Belgian Strong.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of dark sugar and whisky. Taste is dry, toffee, light oak, sweet finish.

Bottle from Brewklopedia, Leicester. Dark brown, translucent with a ring of khaki head. Oak, brandy, a touch of raspberry in the aroma. Sweet and slightly sour taste with a sour fruit finish. Not quite right. Long astringent aftertaste. Not a great beer but it has its moments.

Bottle at home during election night ’17, 09/06/17. Rich mahogany brown with a decent beige head. Nose is sticky toffee, sweet malts, light spice, slight sickly notes, faint red berries, hint of buttery biscuits. Taste comprises earthy tones, bitter fruits, spice, dusty red berries, light charr, fruit cake, dried fruits. Medium + body, spritzy carbonation, drying close with a rising alcohol level. Lacks depth of flavour and cohesion .. basic fayre for the ABV ... rather course and harsh in places. drain poured most of this @waste of cals.

Bottle 330ml. [ As By The Horns Hercules Hold ].Clear medium to dark red brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light light beige head. Aroma is moderate to hesvy malty, dark malt, sweet malt, caramel, dried fruit, raisin, alcohol - phenol. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, raisin, dried fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20161128] 6-3-6-3-12

Bottle shared in Kensal Rise. Pours clear reddish brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds ripe, lightly tangy dark berries, bready malts. Medium sweet flavour with a bit of booze, toffee, stewed berries, licorice. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet and warming in the finish, a little syrupy, with notes of ripe apples, raisins, a little berry tang. So so.

Great raisin body though.
