Tap @ Arendsnest. Deep dark ruby brown color. Beige head, not too much. Aroma’s: malty sweet, toffeeish, some resinous hops, a bit of wood/vanilla. Retronasal there’s toffee sweetness, some red fruit, hops, wood/vanilla. Flavor is moderate to full sweet, tannines, light bitterness. Medium to full bodied. Woody and moderate bitter finish. Nice!

Draught @ Van Moll Brewpub. Slightly hazy red brown color, full sized white head that lasts for quite a long time and leaves good lacing. Aroma is malts, some kind of fruityness, but also something weird. Tastes has it as well. Don’t know what it is but it’s quite annoying. Meh, not very good imo.

Tap @ Van Moll. Dark brown colour with a small and creamy beige head. Smells malts, wood, wort, slightly farmy. Tastes bourbon, nuts, wood, sweet, caramel, some chocolate even.. Pretty nice barleywine! Medium to full body, very soft carbo, thick.

On tap at Arendsnest. Clear dark brown colour, light beige head. Aroma of oak, bourbon, spruce, pine, rosemary, burnt caramel, mint. Flavour is sweet, malty, burnt caramel, light oak and vanilla, laurel, firm hoppy bitterness with mainly spruce, pine needles and rosemary, dominating all other flavours. Medium-bodied. Didn’t like the regular beer, don’t like this one as well, completely out of balance imo.
