Lovely dry stout made even more alluring by a brief whiskey barrel sojourn. Full of unsweetened cocoa, coffee cherries, and oodles of roast, backed up by hints of caramel, vanilla, oak, and berry, with a modest but welcome bourbon vein lasting deep into the fade. Lives up to its style, with a distinct lack of sweetness that only relents once the barrel-aging kicks in. Medium-bodied and mildly carbonated. Chocolate-covered raisin nose.
