Cask-conditioned at the Michael Balcon (JDW), Ealing 4/1/2018. Deep copper in colour with a thin, off-white, head. Sweet, slightly earthy, malts, some berry fruits and leafy hops, leading to a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Cask at The Nag's Head, Reading. Vague barnyard aroma, with sour edge. Reddish brown. Slightly hazy. Starts off malty before a sour tinged bitterness comes through. Spices. A stewed fruit, almost vinous edge. Rye more evident into finish. However the sourness makes me think it's been on a while. Light-medium bodied. almost oily. Average carb. long astringent finish. OK. Looking at the prior review, pretty sure it's suffered from being on a while.

Cask at the Cannie Man, Hanworth. A pale reddish chestnut colour with a loose white head; malty aroma; sweet fruity malt taste with a touch of spice; a gentle bitterness and a malty finish. A satisfying winter bitter.
