Bottled. Deep brown colour with a mediumsized foamy off-white head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is sweet malts, roasted tones, spices, liquorice, some toffee, chocolate, vanilla and mild wooden tones. Flavour is pretty much following the pattern of the aroma. Some what boozy in the flavour though.

2016 vintage, enjoyed on tap at the Hop and Hound. Thanks, Eric! Dense almost black pour, espresso brown foam head. Lots of coffee up front, and lingering in the palate. A noticable licorice note doesnt overpower. It fits wonderfully. Smooth sip, creamy, slight coffee bitter. Late root beer finish. Such an easy drinker for double digits. A fantastic brew to run into.

Bottle. Dark dark brown, almost black with a fast disappearing brown head that comes fast when you swirl. Spicy sweet soy sauce aroma. Very sweet, but with a heavy balancing dose of umami & liqorice, Werthers originals marries into the Kikkoman family. Clean, but maybe too much flavor.

Bottle. Black, dark creamy brown head. Very strong umami soy sauce aroma, chocolate sirup. Medium full dry smoky body, iodine, sweet licorice, greenery section, bell pepper, sticky caramel, fennel seeds. Not very balanced.

Buddel: Blacker than black, nearly medium-sized ruby-tanned head, that slowly diminishes, wanilla and vood, old port-wine, dried fruits, toasted/roasted malt and a mild bitterness in the almost solid sweet-sourish nose; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour with a slight acidity, soft, velvet MF and full bodied; lingering Banyuls-like finish, even suitable to accompany a chocolate-cake. The right stuff for dark Scandinavian winter-nights...
