Black with little brown head. Aroma is dark chocolate, coffee, some hop. Taste is spicy coffee bitterness and chocolate bittersweetness. Smooth, nice drinkability. Good. Rerate: not so complex. Some soy sauce and licorice. Ok. Old rating 3.9

Draught at BKL München 2017.
Black body, with a small, creamy, coffee-colored head.
Aroma of coffee, cocoa, dark chocolate, brown sugar, tiramisu, liquorice, some vanilla, subtle dark fruits.
Wonderful intense, yet smooth taste, with similar aromas, but even more lovely coffee and cocoa beans.
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes smooth, roasty, warm, wooden, with coffee and cocoa beans, liquorice, subtly sweet.
Very tasty! Incredibly smooth, dense and aromatic, with wonderful coffee and cocoa notes throughout. Perfectly balanced and complex, very comfortable sipper. Overall just how I want this style.

10.02.2017, 0,5l bottle sampled @ Bergen International Whisky & Beer Festival:
Nice light brown fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is kind of neutral, weeds, grass, dark malts, minerals, bark, paper, alcohol, sour coffee, sawdust, burnt toast. Taste is slightly dry mineraly, weeds, grass, dark malts, burnt grain, minerals, alcohol, sour coffee, bark, burnt toast, dark sugar. Medium bitterness, slightly harsh mineraly mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea.

500 ml bottle @ the brewery. Pitch black body with a small beige head. Quite strong aroma of dark malt, dry fruit, brown sugar and boozy alcohol. Flavor is sweet, dark malt, not very strong roasted, dry fruit, caramel, balanced fruity bitterness, molasses and a bit sharp alcohol. Not much of the claimed vanilla flavor here. Full bodied and long lasting aftertaste. Quite a nice sipper but it feels a bit raw and alcoholic for the moment (February 2017), needs some cellaring I think. Great potential here.
