Cask (gravity) @ 32th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2015, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England. [ As Tap East American Brown Ale ].Clear medium to dark red brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, fruity maly, caramel, sweet malt, moderate hoppy, orange - citrus, sugary. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, orange, dark malt, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Pigs Ear Day 4. Cask. Clear deep amber beer, a few pale cream colour bubbles. Palate is light and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Slightly smoky malts. Decent citric peel hops and a trace of lemon. Light finish, mild bitter linger. Didn’t need the smoke.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2015 - London. Pours clear, copper-brown with a bubbly topping. Toasted grains on the nose, some floral hops, orange rind. Light-medium sweet flavour, with more grains, light coffee, toasted toffee, pine, earthy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation; OK condition. Moderately bitter on the finish, with more earth and pine, more grains, some citrus notes. Not bad on the whole.

Cask at Pigs Ear, 2015. Brown pour with a white head. Lots of dark fruit in the aroma, some woodsmoke. Flavours of blackberry jam, plums. Reminds of blackcurrant fruit pastilles- I have simple tastes.

Cask at Pigs Ear ’15, 01/12/15. Chestnut brown with a decent light beige covering that retains well. Nose is earthy hop, toasted malt, orange peel, light spice. Taste comprises orange marmalade, puff of smoke, spice, brown bread, shaving of pine, light tropicana base. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close peppered with earthy hop bitterness. Decent enough hoppy brown.
