Sun-ripened strawberries & intense tart meet lactose to create a sour reminiscent of freshly baked strawberry rhubarb pie. The perfect treat on a hot summer’s day. Enjoy by the can, in a glass, or topped with a scoop of vanilla.

Super crisp and golden coloured body with a very thin, pure white head that starts at only about a centimetre or so that fades fast and leaves just about nothing left after a few seconds. Aroma of strawberries, caster sugar, tart berries (perhaps the rhubarb?) and a heavy dose of lactose and creaminess noticeable with a dry bite. Light-bodied; Crisp tart berry flavour up front that shows blackberries, raspberries and tons of strawberries with a sweet bite from the fructose, but also a light dose of dry malts near the end. Aftertaste shows the wheatie, dry characteristics from the malts, some soft fruit-based sugars and the very well-structured tart and sour flavours from the berries (maybe rhubarb stalks as well) and a yeastie and bready bite near the end. Overall, a very nice, tart, soured and super fruity beer that hits all the right notes, remains quite light, but flavourful and shows a good complexity throughout, especially from the fruit and sweetness. Great to sample and my wife even liked it, which counts as something! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 24-October-2020 for US$4,49 sampled at my house here in Washington on 12-January-2021.

Big white pounder can for 3 bucks. Clear pale pour with lively visible co2 making a bubbly white foam head. Nose is mild artificial strawberry. Taste is quite tart in a different kind of way, you know, like a higher alky content fruity malt beverage. Somewhat processed feel in the middle. Yes, quite a quantity in the pounder can session. The tartness and the bite tends to grow on me, and at the same time, the processed feel begins to fade near the finish. Sour tartness is a little uncivilized and forced in the end.
